While driving down Main Street in Chattanooga, TN, I saw this. It had not been long since tornados had ripped through the South. Also, this part of the city is going through a revitalization. I couldn’t help but wonder if this had been a reconstruction project gone wrong.

Come to find out, once I spoke to a couple of grime-covered, sweaty steel workers, that this was a sculpture. Really?

I am not a professional art critic, but I have stood in the presence of Van Gogh masterpieces. I have seen true works of art, especially the kind my daughters drew for my birthday and Father’s Day; but this is ridiculous!

Honestly, some of the stuff the tornados left behind was more impressive. Then again, who can do better than an “act of God?” The “artists” that created this sculpture were obviously mere mortals.

(NOTE: I have since learned that this piece was created by John Henry, a world-famous artist. This sculpture is located on the property where he creates his “masterpieces.”)
