Talking Wall

As an effort to provide a voice for 5o children from a local shelter, each child was asked to finish a sentence that started with “I____.”

The project, called “We Speak,” was created in 2009.

In addition to the words, each child was given a mirror. The mouths are drawings and paintings of what each child saw when they said their “words.”

This picture is one of several I took, but of only one wall. There are actually drawings in all the windows.
