Delta Queen Staircase

When I first walked inside the Delta Queen, I immediately said, “Wow!” It was like I had walked back in time, or had been transported to a miniature replica of the Titanic.

In reality, the Delta Queen cost more to build than the Titanic and was probably more seaworthy.

This particular staircase, as I was informed, was built and re-built three times – until it was “perfect.” There is so much extinct wood in this ship, if desired, another staircase like it could never be built again.

All the furniture is original. As a matter of fact, except for the mattresses, no piece of furniture on the Delta Queen is less than 60 years old.

Believe me, this is a really cool place to visit.
